To help protect user privacy, WhatsApp blocks users from taking screenshots of profile photos. This means that you can’t take a screenshot of another person’s profile picture, and they can’t screenshot your profile picture.

Have you ever found yourself admiring a friend’s #WhatsApp profile photo and wishing you could keep it for later? Maybe it’s that perfect sunset shot, or perhaps their dog has finally mastered the art of posing. Either way, I’ve cracked the code, and I’m here to share the secret sauce with you — all while keeping things light and fun!😅

Step 1: The Friendly Stalk (AhemđŸ«Ł, I Mean, View the Profile)
First things first, open WhatsApp on your iPhone and navigate to that friend’s chat whose profile photo you want to capture. Now, tap on their name at the top. No, don’t worry, they won’t know you’re doing this! You’ll be taken to their contact info page where their profile picture will be proudly displayed in full glory.

Step 2: The ‘Act Natural’ Moment😬
Here’s where the magic happens. It’s time to channel your inner spy (in the least creepy way possible, of course). Scroll down little and you will find “Contact details” , tap on it. Take a moment to appreciate the masterpiece — you’re about to make it yours!

Step 3: The Screen Snatch (a.k.a. The Screenshot)đŸ«„
Now, here comes the part we’ve all been waiting for. When you tap on “Contact details” it will open up a window showing the contact Image and number. Get your thumb and index finger ready because you’re going to press the Side Button (or the Home Button, if you’re rocking an older iPhone model) and the Volume Up button at the same time. Just a quick press — no need to karate chop your phone! You’ll hear that delightful camera click sound, and voilà, the profile photo is saved to your camera roll. It’s yours to keep, share, or simply admire whenever you need a pick-me-up.

Bonus Tip: Keep It Classy
While it’s fun to snap a pic of someone’s profile photo, remember to keep it classy. Don’t use the photo for anything that might embarrass or upset the person. After all, we’re here to enjoy life, not make things awkward!

A Word to #Meta:
A Friendly Nudge and a Humble Request
Now, on a slightly more serious note, I’ve got to hand it to Meta for making WhatsApp such a user-friendly app. However, since I’ve discovered this nifty little trick to screenshot profile photos, I thought it might be worth passing on to the powers that be. Dear #Meta team, if you’re reading this, perhaps you could tighten up the privacy settings a bit? Just a friendly suggestion from someone who enjoys both convenience and a good dose of privacy.

And while I’ve got your attention, if you happen to have any spare goodies lying around — a t-shirt, a mug, or even a little Meta sticker — I wouldn’t say no!😊 Consider it a token of appreciation for bringing this to your notice. Plus, it would make a fun story for my next blog post!
